Nursing Care

A cup of coffee, some friendly laughter and a side of health care

A great nurse brings something extra to the table.

Robin Koch, R.N., is the kind of high quality nurse that a Magnet hospital attracts. She combines her excellent professional skills with a caring heart at the Center for Healthy Aging at Lehigh Valley Hospital. And because she’s a great nurse, she’s a great nurse all the time, not just during her workday.

Four years ago, Robin Koch happened to meet a group of older men who gather each morning at McDonald’s in Walnutport. Now, she joins them before 7 almost every morning. She socializes, answers health questions, reminds the men to get their flu shots, and even brings homemade treats. She looks out for the McDonald’s staff, too. She doesn’t do this because it’s her job. It’s not. She does it because that’s who she is.

A Magnet for great nurses is a Magnet for patients —
and a Magnet for the entire community.

Quality Care
Their Support Gives Amputees Hope
Losing a limb is tragic, but sharing the experience with someone can offer hope. Knowing this, two LVH nurses, re-established the Amputee Support Group and have reached out to more than 22 amputees and their families.
